Which LED lighting to use in the health sector?

Entrance

The entrance is mainly a functional room. Therefore, it must be illuminated in an attractive and lively way so that arriving patients feel immediately at ease from the first minutes. The entrance often consists of several areas: the entrance itself, the reception and often additional waiting areas.

Since corridors and entry areas often do not have windows, a good lighting solution can help to define the different areas, each of the others to allow a perfect orientation.

Patient's room

Now, patient rooms are increasingly carefully designed in terms of materials, light, and color, just like hotel rooms.
The design and lighting of the rooms must first be in tune with the feelings of the patients. Therefore, in addition to a suitable light, the color of the chambers and the color rendering of the light source play an important role. Here, the use of LED bulbs and dimmable ceiling lights with warm white light is recommended.

Examination and treatment room

The examination/treatment rooms must fulfill a number of variable functions and are sometimes used as offices. That is why lighting has to be adapted to the respective needs in a flexible and multifunctional way.
On the one hand, people must always feel comfortable here. On the other hand, hospital staff need a lighting concept that allows them to be illuminated without dazzling their patient and technical equipment. In the exam room, LED ceiling lights with daylight color and high color rendering is required.

Operation Room

The surgical operating rooms are the highest mental and physical challenges of the team. Security and functionality are the priority here. In order to be able to perform difficult tasks - which are often life and death issues - safe and optimal lighting is required.
For optimum brightness, the room must be divided into several areas. The most enlightened area is the operating table. But not only, must the rest of the room be very clear and without glare to exclude any problem of adaptation of the eyes.
